THE ASK

BatBox was developing a baseball-driven hospitality concept that blends gameplay, food, and social experience.

The goal was to:

Push the environment beyond a traditional batting cage or sports bar
Create a space that feels energetic, social, and immersive
Connect the atmosphere more closely to the feeling of spending a night at the ballpark with friends

The challenge: evolve an already strong concept into something more dimensional, contemporary, and experience-driven.

We explored how architecture, lighting, materiality, and guest flow could work together to elevate the experience.

Design around atmosphere, not just activity
The environment was developed to feel social, energetic, and layered—capturing the emotion of live sports culture.
Use materials to reinforce tone
Finishes and textures help balance a contemporary hospitality aesthetic with references to baseball culture.
Integrate gameplay into the environment
Rather than separating activity from dining and gathering, the concept connects them into a unified experience.
Shape mood through lighting
Lighting strategies help transition the space from active gameplay to a more social, nightlife-oriented atmosphere.
Create a forward-looking sports venue
The concept combines hospitality, technology, and entertainment into something that feels more immersive than traditional sports-driven formats.
Guide movement naturally
Guest flow was considered as part of the experience—allowing people to move fluidly between gameplay, dining, and social zones.
